Deliverability Settings

Configure deliverability thresholds and alerts

Deliverability Settings

Deliverability is the foundation of effective email marketing — if your emails don't reach the inbox, nothing else matters. Mailnaptic provides a suite of deliverability monitoring and configuration tools that help you maintain a strong sender reputation and catch problems before they escalate.

Accessing Deliverability Settings

Navigate to Organization → Deliverability to view your deliverability dashboard and configure monitoring settings. This section provides an overview of your current sending health, domain status, and any active alerts.

Domain Health

The domain table shows all verified sending domains in your organization with their current health status:

  • SPF status: Whether your SPF record is correctly configured and passing validation.
  • DKIM status: Whether DKIM signing is set up and the DNS records are in place.
  • DMARC status: Your DMARC policy (none, quarantine, or reject) displayed with a human-readable label and color-coded badge.
  • Last checked: When Mailnaptic last verified your DNS records, shown as a relative timestamp.

Mailnaptic periodically re-checks your domain configuration and alerts you if any authentication records are missing, misconfigured, or have changed unexpectedly.

Complaint Rate Monitoring

Mailnaptic monitors your complaint rate (spam reports) at both the campaign and organization level. The platform uses configurable thresholds to alert you when complaint rates approach dangerous levels:

  • Warning threshold: Default 0.1% — triggers a warning log and optional email notification. At this level, you should review recent campaigns for potential issues.
  • Critical threshold: Default 0.5% — triggers an error-level alert. At this level, major mailbox providers may begin throttling or blocking your messages.

These thresholds are evaluated over a rolling window (default 24 hours) and can be configured via environment variables for platform-level control.

Bounce Management

Mailnaptic automatically handles bounces to protect your sender reputation:

  • Hard bounces: Contacts that hard bounce are automatically suppressed — their status is set to inactive, and they are excluded from all future sends. This happens immediately upon receiving the bounce notification.
  • Soft bounces: Soft bounces are tracked and retried. If a contact soft bounces repeatedly across multiple campaigns, they are flagged for review.
  • Bounce rate alerts: If your overall bounce rate exceeds healthy levels, Mailnaptic displays a warning on your deliverability dashboard.

ISP Breakdown

The deliverability dashboard includes an ISP breakdown showing your top receiving domains ranked by volume, along with complaint and bounce counts for each. This helps you identify if deliverability issues are concentrated at specific providers — for example, if Gmail is showing elevated complaints while other providers are fine, it may indicate a Gmail-specific filtering issue.

Warmup Monitoring

For new sending domains or domains that have been inactive, Mailnaptic tracks your sending volume progression to ensure you don't ramp up too aggressively. The warmup worker monitors daily send volumes and helps you gradually increase throughput to build a positive sender reputation.

Proactive Measures

Beyond monitoring, take these steps to maintain strong deliverability:

  • Regularly clean your list by removing long-term inactive contacts.
  • Use segments to exclude unengaged contacts from large campaigns.
  • Run the email client rendering checker before sending to catch content issues.
  • Monitor your DMARC reports for unauthorized use of your domain.
  • Keep your complaint rate below 0.1% by sending relevant, well-targeted content.
