Onboarding Checklist
A step-by-step guide to get your account ready for sending.
Onboarding Checklist
The onboarding checklist appears on your Dashboard after you first log in. Completing every item gets you ready to send campaigns with good deliverability.
The Checklist
The checklist has six items. Each one links to the page where you complete it:
- Add your sending domain — Go to Domains and add the domain you will send from. You must own or control the domain’s DNS.
- Verify DNS records — Add the DNS records Mailnaptic shows for your domain (SPF, DKIM, and the Return-Path records) and click Check DNS. See Adding and Verifying a Sending Domain.
- Create a list — Organize contacts into at least one list so you can target them in campaigns.
- Add contacts — Import a CSV or add contacts manually. Make sure you have permission to email every contact.
- Create your first campaign — Use the drag-and-drop builder and send a test to yourself.
- Set up an automation — Create an automated onboarding or nurture flow.
Tracking Progress
The checklist header shows how many items are completed (for example, 3/6) and a progress bar. Completed items turn green. When every item is done, the checklist shows a short confirmation and then collapses.
Other Requirements for Sending
You can use Mailnaptic without completing every item, but sending is restricted until the basics are in place:
- Your account email must be verified before you can send a campaign or activate an automation.
- A campaign can only be sent from a verified domain (the required SPF, DKIM, and Return-Path records must pass).
- A campaign is blocked at the send step if no mailing address is set on its sending domain. Set it in the Mailing address field on the domain card on the Domains page (CAN-SPAM requires a physical address in commercial email).
- You need at least one domain before you can create an automation.
Tip: Have access to your domain’s DNS settings ready before you start. DNS changes can take a while to propagate.
