Guided Setup
Walk through adding a sending domain, your first contacts and a first campaign in four steps.
Guided Setup
Guided setup takes you from a new account to a first campaign in four steps: Domain, Contacts, Campaign and Done. Open it at /setup or click Continue setup on the dashboard checklist. Owners and admins of an account with no domain and no contacts are sent there once automatically.
Step 1: Domain
Enter the domain you send from, for example example.com. Mailnaptic lists the DNS records to add (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) with a short explanation of each and a copy button. Add them at your DNS provider, then click Check DNS now. The page also re-checks by itself, first after 30 seconds and then less often, and stops after about 24 minutes. DNS changes can take longer than that, so use the button when you are ready. Only owners and admins can add a domain. Members see a note instead of the form.
Step 2: Contacts
Pick one way to add people: import a CSV file, add a single contact, or create a signup form. Import and signup forms need a plan that includes them. If yours does not, the button opens Billing. A Back to guided setup banner on the Contacts and Signup forms pages brings you back.
Step 3: Campaign
Choose a starter template. The campaign builder opens with it applied, and the sender details are filled in from a verified domain. Use Send test in the builder to send the email to yourself first.
Step 4: Done
The summary shows what is complete and gives a link to any step you skipped, plus ideas for what to do next: automations, segments and the API.
Good to know
- You can skip any step and come back later. Skipped steps are remembered in your browser.
- The current step is in the address, so the Back button works and reloading resumes at the first unfinished step.
- Each step shows its status as text (Complete, In progress, Skipped, Not started), not only as a color.
- The setup is built to work with a keyboard and a screen reader. See Keyboard and accessibility.
Tip: Do the domain step first. DNS needs time to spread, and you can add contacts while you wait.
