Saving & Reusing Email Templates
Email templates save your entire email design — layout, content, and styling — so you can reuse it as the starting point for future campaigns. Templates are ideal for recurring emails like newsletters, announcements, or transactional messages.
Saving a Campaign as a Template
- Build your email in the campaign editor until you are happy with the design.
- Click the Save as Template button in the editor toolbar.
- Enter a template name (e.g., “Monthly Newsletter Layout”).
- Click Save. The complete email design is saved to your template library.
Creating a Campaign from a Template
- Click New Campaign from the campaigns list.
- Select From Template as your starting point.
- Browse your saved templates and select the one you want to use.
- The campaign editor opens with the template's design pre-loaded. Edit the content as needed for this specific campaign.
Managing Templates
Navigate to Templates from the sidebar to view and manage your template library:
- Preview — click a template to see a full preview of its design.
- Edit — open a template in the editor to update its design. Changes apply to the template only and do not affect campaigns already created from it.
- Duplicate — create a copy of a template to use as a starting point for a variation.
- Delete — remove a template from your library. This does not affect existing campaigns.
Template Versioning
Mailnaptic tracks versions of your templates. Each time you save changes to a template, a new version is created. You can restore a previous version at any time (see “Restoring a Previous Template Version” article). This protects you from accidental overwrites.
Tips
- Create a small set of core templates for your most common email types (newsletter, product announcement, event invite) and iterate on them over time.
- Templates include merge tags, so your personalization carries over to every campaign created from the template.
- Templates are shared across your organization — any team member can use or edit them.
- Use clear naming conventions to keep your template library organized as it grows.
