Restoring a Previous Template Version
Roll back to an earlier version of a template
Restoring a Previous Template Version
Mailnaptic automatically saves a version history for your email templates. If you accidentally overwrite a template design or want to revert to an earlier version, you can restore it in a few clicks.
Viewing Version History
- Navigate to Templates from the sidebar.
- Click on the template whose history you want to view.
- Click the Version History button (clock icon) in the template toolbar.
- A panel opens showing all saved versions, listed by date and time. The most recent version is at the top.
Previewing a Previous Version
- In the version history panel, click on any version entry to select it.
- The editor canvas updates to show a read-only preview of that version's design.
- Compare it visually with the current version to confirm it is the one you want to restore.
Restoring a Version
- Select the version you want to restore from the version history panel.
- Click the Restore This Version button.
- Confirm the restoration when prompted.
- The selected version becomes the current template design. A new version entry is created in the history so you can always undo the restoration if needed.
Important Notes
- Restoring a version does not delete any version history entries. All previous versions remain accessible.
- Restoring creates a new version at the top of the history, so you can always go back again.
- Version history applies to templates only. Individual campaign designs do not have version history — once a campaign is saved, its previous state is not tracked separately.
- Campaigns that were already created from a template are not affected when you restore a template version. Only future campaigns started from that template will use the restored design.
Tips
- Before making major changes to a template, you do not need to create a manual backup — the version history handles it automatically.
- If you want to experiment with a template design without affecting the original, consider duplicating the template first instead of editing it directly.
- Use version history as an audit trail to see how your email designs have evolved over time.
