Lead Nurture Template
Guide leads through your sales funnel
Lead Nurture Template
Not every lead is ready to buy immediately. The Lead Nurture template in Mailnaptic helps you build trust and educate prospects over time with a sequence of valuable content, guiding them toward a conversion at their own pace.
What the template includes
- Trigger: Tag added — "lead" or a specific lead source tag.
- Send email: Introduction email — who you are and what value you provide.
- Delay: Wait 3 days.
- Send email: Educational content — a blog post, guide, or case study.
- Delay: Wait 4 days.
- Condition: Did the contact click any link in the previous emails?
- Yes branch: Send a conversion-focused email with a clear CTA (book a demo, start a trial, make a purchase).
- No branch: Send a softer engagement email (a different angle on your value proposition).
- Delay: Wait 5 days.
- Send email: Social proof email — testimonials, case studies, or success stories.
Customizing for your funnel
Top of funnel (awareness)
The first email or two should focus on providing value without being salesy. Share educational content that addresses the lead's problem or interest. The goal is to establish credibility and trust.
Middle of funnel (consideration)
Introduce your solution and show how it addresses the lead's needs. Case studies, comparison guides, and product demos work well here. The condition branch lets you accelerate engaged leads while nurturing cautious ones.
Bottom of funnel (decision)
Make a clear offer with a strong call-to-action. Remove friction by addressing common objections. Include social proof and urgency where appropriate.
Adjusting the cadence
Lead nurture timing depends on your sales cycle:
- Short sales cycle (days): Compress delays to 1-2 days between emails.
- Medium sales cycle (weeks): Use the default 3-5 day delays.
- Long sales cycle (months): Extend to weekly or bi-weekly emails over a longer period.
Adding lead scoring
Enhance the template by using tags to track engagement:
- Add a "clicked-nurture" tag when a lead clicks any email in the sequence.
- Use conditions to check for multiple engagement signals.
- Route highly engaged leads to a fast-track conversion path.
- Route unengaged leads to a lighter-touch "stay in touch" branch.
Best practices
- Lead with value in every email. If every email is a sales pitch, leads will unsubscribe.
- Use branching to personalize the journey based on engagement signals.
- Keep the series focused — 4 to 6 emails is usually sufficient. Longer sequences risk fatigue.
- End the sequence with a clear next step, even if the lead does not convert. Add them to a regular newsletter or long-term nurture track.
- Test different content types (video, blog posts, infographics) to see what resonates with your audience.
A well-designed lead nurture automation turns cold leads into warm prospects and warm prospects into customers — all without manual follow-up.
