Campaign Performance Predictions

Forecast campaign results before sending

Campaign Performance Predictions

Before you press send, Mailnaptic's predictive analytics can forecast how your campaign is likely to perform. These predictions help you set realistic expectations, identify potential issues, and optimize your campaign before it reaches inboxes.

How Campaign Predictions Work

When you reach the review step of the campaign builder, Mailnaptic automatically generates performance predictions based on:

  • Audience composition — The engagement distribution of your target segment. A segment full of highly engaged contacts will naturally predict higher open and click rates.
  • Historical performance — Your organization's past campaign results, weighted toward recent campaigns with similar audience sizes and content types.
  • Content signals — Subject line length, personalization usage, link count, and content-to-image ratio all influence predicted performance.
  • Send timing — The predicted impact of your chosen send time based on your audience's historical open-time patterns.
  • Industry benchmarks — When your organization has limited history, Mailnaptic supplements with anonymized industry-level benchmarks.

What Gets Predicted

Campaign predictions include the following metrics with confidence ranges:

  • Predicted open rate — The estimated percentage of recipients who will open the email, shown as a range (e.g., 22–28%).
  • Predicted click rate — The estimated click-through rate based on content and audience behavior.
  • Predicted bounce rate — An estimate of hard and soft bounces based on list hygiene indicators.
  • Predicted unsubscribe rate — How many recipients are likely to unsubscribe, informed by frequency and engagement patterns.

Interpreting the Forecast

Predictions are displayed as a range rather than a single number to reflect inherent uncertainty. A narrow range indicates high confidence; a wide range suggests more variability. The midpoint is the most likely outcome. Color indicators show how the prediction compares to your organization's average: green means above average, yellow means on par, and red means below.

Improving Your Predictions

If the forecast shows below-average performance, consider these adjustments before sending:

  • Narrow your audience to more engaged segments.
  • Revise your subject line — try the AI subject line generator for alternatives.
  • Adjust your send time or enable Send Time Optimization.
  • Review your content for engagement best practices such as clear calls-to-action and appropriate length.

Prediction vs. Reality

After the campaign sends, Mailnaptic compares predicted results to actual performance on the campaign detail page. This comparison helps you calibrate your expectations over time and understand which factors most influence your audience's behavior.
